Plastic free India
Seeing the increasing demand of the people, the number of plastic manufacturing companies has increased. These companies have also increased their production. Due to plastic, garbage increases and a terrible problem like plastic pollution arises. These problems invite many diseases besides increasing the crisis on human life.
The problem of plastic pollution is increasing day by day. Research has shown that the use of plastic has increased significantly in the last two decades in the country. Plastic is easy to use and cheap due to which the products made from plastic are popular among people.
Plastic Products:
Just like the proper disposal of plastic, its production is just as serious a problem. Different types of fossil fuels such as oil and petrol are used in the production of plastics. These fossil fuels are non-recyclable and difficult to recycle like petrol and mineral oil, so if we continue to use plastic in the same way, the day is not far when all these resources will be exhausted.
Impact of plastics on marine life
Plastic bags, other plastic particles as well as water bottles reach seas and oceans through air and water. Mixing these particles in water contaminates seawater and if these plastic particles enter the stomachs of fish, turtles and other wildlife, they die. Many marine life are killed by plastic every year.
Impact of plastics on humans and animals
Like marine animals, plastic pollution is harmful to humans and animals living on land. Every year, thousands of animals die from consuming plastic waste as food. This plastic gets stuck in their intestines. Plastic waste degrades over time. Therefore, mosquitoes, flies and other types of insects start to form in it. These causes spread disease in humans.
A collective effort to end plastic pollution
Complete disposal of plastic materials is a difficult task. The problem is exacerbated when plastic waste reaches water sources. Like paper and wood, plastic cannot be incinerated. Burning of plastic produces different types of harmful gases. These gases are harmful to the earth's atmosphere. Due to this, plastic increases the pollution of earth, water and air.
No matter how hard we try, it is difficult to completely stop using plastic products. But we can certainly reduce the production of plastic. Use of things made of plastic like plastic bags, boxes, glasses, bottles etc. should be reduced. Instead, use eco-friendly products like clothes, paper bags, steel, copper and earthenware.
