Autobiography of the Road / Occult

I speak a path, I have many different forms and I am also very vast. You must have seen me and used me daily. Back in the day I was a little footpath. But later on, as progress was made, my appearance also began to change. Along with my length the width was also increased. Before I was in raw and earthy form. But then slowly my firmness was created. Roads made of cement concrete do not show dust and soil at all.

Many types of motorcycles, cars, buses, trucks etc pass by me during the day. I work 24 hours a day. It is because of me that man reaches from one place to another. Not only humans but also animals and birds walk on me. I was not sad but happy to see the cars, people and animals running over me. I know the age of every person by step. When a little boy walks up to me, I immediately notice his tiny steps.

Every person enters from village to city and from city to village from Me. Earlier in the rural areas I was in raw form. But today I am clean and in good shape almost everywhere. My construction is going on on a large scale in many places across our country. People admire me when they see me in a ripe and clean form. If my construction in a place is crude or damaged, people talk bad about me as well as the administration.

You humans use me every day. But some people spit on me from among you. These people are often biting something in their mouth. And after a while they spit on my side. It saddens me to see that the very people whom I help to reach their destination, spoil me by spitting on me. Besides, some people throw things like plastic bottles, packets of chips, polythene etc. on me. I would like to tell people that there is a garbage can to throw these things. You are doing yourself a disservice by polluting me. Because the garbage lying on the road often leads to accidents.

Besides, some drivers ignore the traffic rules to reach their destination quickly. I am very sad to see such a scene. I would like to tell all those people that all traffic rules are made for your own safety. So follow these rules and drive vehicles without haste. By acting without following these rules, you are putting your life at risk.

Almost everywhere my usage drops at night. Especially in small towns and rural areas, I become very shy. At this time of the night, dogs start barking loudly. In that case I wait for early morning. And when the rays of the sun fall on me and people begin to flow, I am happy.

Finally, I consider myself very lucky. Because I am getting a chance to serve you all. I was on this plane before human life and will remain so after human life. I have no end, I am infinite.
