Science is a curse or a blessing

Today, science is widely used in every field. If science is viewed as a boon, it has provided many tools for human welfare. From waking up in the morning till going to bed at night, all our activities are controlled by science. The discovery of electricity is an important discovery in science. Electricity has many uses in daily life. Washing clothes, pressing them, cooking food, providing hot water in winter, cooling air in summer, etc., all industrial advancements have been made possible by electricity created by science.

Science has made many facilities available to us. Advances in science have increased human performance. Advances in science have made it possible to do work that used to take hours in the past. But as much as science and comforts have been made available, the whole world has to face its side effects. In such a situation the question is before the society whether science is a boon or a curse for human life?

The discoveries made by science in the field of transportation are commendable. Today, a person can reach from one place to another within a few hours due to the means of transport like train, plane, motor car, bus, motorcycle etc. Not only this, man has also reached other planets with the help of spacecraft. The achievement of science in the field of information communication is remarkable. Due to science, information is conveyed from one place to another within a few moments by using the resources like radio, television, mobile etc. Apart from this, science is very important in the fields of agriculture, industry, punishment and entertainment.

It is said that any coin has two sides, just as science has its advantages, it also has its disadvantages. Science has placed too much power in the hands of man. There is no restriction on its use. That is why today all over the world people of bad intellect are using science for their own selfish interests.

A recent example of this is World War II. At the end of this World War, America dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Due to this, a large number of people were killed. In addition, terrorist ideologues are killing people all over the world using weapons made available by science. Atoms created by science have the power to destroy the entire universe.

The real focus of science is human interest and human welfare. So it is necessary today that more and more people should be made aware of the benefits of science. Students should be taught the proper use and importance of science by organizing seminars, speeches and various programs on Science Day and other days.
